Negligence and responsibility

Hello e'one,

This is a very remarkable incident that happened in my apartment building yesterday. It was around 11:30 in the night, and if you guys think that every body were in deep sleep dreaming romantically ;-) about their hero/heroines...then you are wrong :-(

All the tenants of the Quest on Willis apartment were on the road in that terrible cold, not much of them were on their shoes and jacket as well :-(
Ofcourse, no one was all that crazy to come out at that time :-) We were assembled on the road because of the fire alarm that sneaked into all of our rooms and woke us up. Fortunately, some lucky ppl like me were still awake and could easily manage to get down through the stairs...but for others who were in deep sleep, it was a miserable one to get, dress up and get out of the building.

After all this scene, everyone managed to get out of the building and were assembled on the road. In less than 2 mins, 3 fire engines came, followed by 2 ambulance and a police car. It was very funny that the fire men were not able 2 get into the main door without the sensor cards...hehehe...but jokes apart...the point to be noted here is the responsiveness and reactive nature of the fire man in trying to prevent the accident...

The fire men came, checked the entire building and got out...It seemed they had come as though to switch off the alarm....;-) But if we throw some more insight on this regard we can get to the topic of this blog.

I hope all of u might not have forgotten the Kumbakonam incident :-( So many innocent kids were just burnt like that...for no reason....Had the fire engine been on time without a call, just like as it happened in my building (No one called the fire service, its the deductor kept in all floors that rings automatically), so many young, innocent lives would have been saved.

I am not blaming the entire government for this, all I am saying is that, its hightime that govt starts thiking in these lines of building a safer place to live and work. Also, the other thing that I noticed was the people's discipline on roads when a fire engine/ambulance is on roads. People here, respect other's occupation and give importance to their role and responsibility. We cannot just walk like that straight and begin with a conversation even to the security/receptionist. You need to respect them, ask them if they can be of some help and then talk to them.
